What do with guard vs draigo wing

Ok play infantryman the other night along with spag and got a good ol romping by grey knights. Draigo wing to be exact. Well a tough match for guard when the "dw" is played right. The only downsides I see is that the list has few scoring units. And multiple objective missions will hurt this list if u play a good game of keep away. The main thing is is knowing how and what to kill and playing conventional leaf blower u need to gives little and start dragging them across the field but when there is two objective and they are close to each other what do you do besides stand there and try to take it.

So conclusions first. Try to hit them hard. And not give anything away. A quick psyker weaken resolve is nice but u need them to loose three models. Not an easy task bur could be a quick game Ender. Second is u need ur vendettas so yes those pesky psyfleman dreads need to die. Try to be more mobile. Run from them to only regroup. To take the point. I think if u use ur speed playing guard. U can withdraw to make a bigger victory later. Don't give a hopscotch unit let the feed on something at the last minute. If u can wipe the test of their list in 2 turns and hopefully get two plus a little to deal with the rest. I want to rematch this one to try some things I have talked about.

Also. Been thinking about the meta a little. U have big scary rock units that have these 3+ cover or invuls and multi wounds models I know u can toss waves of lascannons and no results. But u do get some. There is a more effective way to deal with these units and every army needs to find their way. I think for guard it might have to be a game change. Thinking about the effects of the manticore vendetta and hydra all effective and awesome vehicles in there own rights and to mention the psyker battle squad. So. Lets talk a few on each of these. First the manticore
Great in the mirror
Great against razor or rhino spam
Great against nids and orks
Lacks true rock unit killing potenial
Random ass template

Next the vendetta
One of the best transports period
Works good in mirror due to it's height advantage
Great for scout and other deployments
Anti tank and heavy infantry
Really no big draw back except not great vs horde

The hydra
Good in mirror
Good against eldar dark eldar BAs
Good against hordes
Good against razorspam
Bad against rock units

And psykers
On my opinion
Never work when u need them
To many thing to screw them due to every body is
Running psychic hate to
Kill dw and sw psykers so why
Field a unit that only helps u sometimes

So this is what I am thinking. Actually kinda weird but
Let's see

7 scoring units
2 hydras separate
1 manticore
6 vendettas
And the compliment of vehicles and tricks

So the game plan is can a rock unit soak that many hits

Can the mirror stand up to that much las fire taking out there key unit the no deploy is viable on the outflank due to maneuverability
The hordes will loose their big stuff
To only find the clean up crew to finish the job.

Yes I think it's viable but is it. You always buddy up in the 3 empty vendettas and can change how u run them on the fly. So mess with the scoring unit thing u can go
Extreme mobile only down side is one immobilized results in destroyed vehicle but if u play smart yes u will see some of this but I think in right timing you can be a thorn in someone side.

  1. Draigowing comes in two forms, both give the same weakness when pressured appropriately, which is where draigo/paladins are effective (Close Combat). Avoidance (mobility) is the countermeasure. Needing 2's to instagib means nothing if they have to foot-slog 4-5 turns to catch you.

    The two varieties are 10-Man foot (side-step, avoid, turbo-boost when you can away) or stormraven delivery (shoot it down, the see above)

    You hit on it with the addition of extra vendettas, but you did not really discuss that aspect.
